What is the difference between the Clear Regular Strength Kit, and the Clear Extra Strength Kit?
The CLEAR Regular and Extra Strength Anti-Acne systems both come with 3 products:
1. CLEAR Pore Normalizing Cleanser
Identical formula in both the Regular and Extra Strength systems:
2. CLEAR Reg. Strength Anti-Redness Solution 2% salicylic acid or CLEAR Extra Strength Anti-Redness Solution 2% salicylic acid
The difference between the Regular and Extra Strength CLEAR exfoliants is in the delivery systems and their textures. Both contain 2% salicylic acid but the Regular Strength has a nearly weightless feel on your skin and a pH of around 3.9, making it gentler on the skin. The Extra Strength version's formula can penetrate deeper into the pore and has a pH of 3.5. It is designed for those with more stubborn or persistent breakouts. Both exfoliants are highly effective options as part of a routine for clear skin; you may need to experiment with both to see which works best for your skin type.
3. Clear Regular Strength Acne Treatment with 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide or Clear Extra Strength Acne Treatment with 5% Benzoyl Peroxide
Both contain the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide which is considered the gold-standard for preventing breakouts. Both work immediately to start eliminating acne-causing bacteria and reduce redness. Regular strength contains 2.5% benzoyl peroxide (mild to moderate breakouts) while the extra strength contains 5% benzoyl peroxide (moderate to severe breakouts).
In addition to one of the CLEAR 3-step systems, we suggest that you incorporate one of our toners and an AM & PM moisturiser based on skin type to complete your skin-care regimen, which can provide you with additional benefits for preventing/reducing the signs of ageing.
